The New Light

I TOO have seen in revelation's light
The vision new, the heaven and earth divine,
The boundless realm with no dividing line;
The timeless day with no encroaching night.
Here the redeemed in holy work unite;
In songs of praise they to their God assign
The glory of their state; their hearts incline
To worship Him alone and serve aright.
O blessed light! What joy you bring to those
Whose humble minds are longing for surcease
From mortal strife, from fear and all the woes
Of the deceiving sense; they seek release
Through that unerring sense that ever knows
The Christ, and guides them to eternal peace.
