"Kings and priests"

To know dominion is to be a king
Within the realm of Mind that knows no bound
Of time or place, of person or of thing;
Where happiness and health and hope are found
In freedom from the Adam-dream,
In consciousness of good supreme.

To live for service is to be a priest;
To build the temple of the living God;
To humbly share an ever-present feast
Of Truth and Love; to bow beneath the rod
Of chastisement that purifies;
To glimpse the Christ that glorifies.

Such kings and priests to be, our one desire,
Whate'er such knowing, living, may demand:
To conquer self; in Spirit's cleansing fire
Lose aught opposed to each divine command;
In faith, obedience to attest;
Such right desire is surely blest!
