Christian Science came into my experience through the healing of my father. Physicians said that they could do nothing for him, and that he had but a short time to live. A kind friend brought Christian Science to the attention of my mother, who felt that if it would be of any help to my father she would begin its study. A practitioner was called, and Christian Science treatment was given. Inside of two weeks my father was back at the office. Today both my mother and father are earnest students of Christian Science. Shortly after this healing took place I started to attend the Christian Science Sunday School. This wonderful privilege was afforded me until I reached the age of twenty, and I am grateful for the fundamental truths learned there.

I have had many joyous healings in Christian Science, for which I am deeply grateful, and I have had many beautiful proofs of the fact that there is just one business, the Father's business. When to mortal sense there seemed to be no employment, it was proved to me that there is always room to express God, good. I knew that God's idea is ever employed, and that in knowing this spiritual fact I could be busy reflecting good. As a result of this revelation I have had no lack of employment since finishing school, and I have made progress through many beautiful experiences in each place where I have been employed. Mrs. Eddy's admonition, which helped me when seeking employment, and has helped me many times since, is found on page 3 of "Pulpit and Press": "Know, then, that you possess sovereign power to think and act rightly, and that nothing can dispossess you of this heritage and trespass on Love."

I am very grateful for a recent healing which I experienced. One evening when starting to skate, I stepped into a hole, lost my balance, and fell with considerable force. Because of severe pain in my back, it was difficult for me to get up. For a moment I thought I should lose consciousness, but through my husband's instant declaration of the statement from Science and Health (p. 424), "Under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection," I was able to get up and continue skating, and later to walk five blocks to my home. I was able to get up the next morning and go about my duties, and by the next evening I could walk quite freely. This was proof to me that regardless of material so-called laws, we have the omnipotent, everlasting, and eternal truth to guide and help us each step of the way.
