Huntington, West Virginia (First Church).—After occupying the church edifice at Eleventh Avenue and Twelfth Street for more than eleven years, First Church of Christ, Scientist, Huntington, held dedication services on Sunday, January 15, 1939, in the morning and afternoon, signalizing the retirement of all debts in connection with the building.

There was no change in the regular order of services, but, in addition, a sketch of the history of the church was read.

First Church of Christ, Scientist, Huntington, was recognized as a branch of The Mother Church in 1903. A state charter was granted to the church on January 25, 1908. From that time until the present building was occupied, in 1927, the church had its meetings in a number of locations.

On April 6, 1921, the group voted to purchase a lot at Eleventh Avenue and Twelfth Street, and the deed was obtained on November 7, 1921. A building committee was appointed in 1925, authorized to construct the edifice.

With the church officers and a few members present, the cornerstone of the building was laid on the morning of May 9, 1927. After holding services for a short period in the basement of the building, the members held their first service in the auditorium on Thanksgiving Day, 1927.
