I am deeply grateful to Christian Science for all of the blessings which have come to me and to my family through the study and application of its rules.

I had known of Christian Science for some time before I came to it for help. My mother had been a student for about ten years, and I had witnessed several remarkable healings, but my profession was that of a medical nurse, and I did not feel that I could accept its teachings in regard to health, although it appealed to me as a beautiful religion.

At the birth of my first child I experienced a most discordant physical condition, which left me in poor health for some time, in spite of the best efforts of a physician. It was, therefore, with some misgivings that I approached the birth of a second child. My faith in material means had been shaken by my former experience, and I decided to try Christian Science. This time the birth was most harmonious. I was able to be up and dressed after the second day, and I drove fifty miles on the tenth day without fatigue.

Since that time Christian Science has been my only physician, and we have had many beautiful demonstrations of God's love and constant care. Among the healings we have had in our family are those of broken bones, blood poisoning (septic infection), acute appendicitis, neuritis, bilious headaches, constipation, influenza, eczema, and many of the so-called children's diseases.

Three years ago it was proved to me that God is able to protect us from the harmful consequences of accidents. I was staying overnight with my husband's mother, and we had retired early. I spent some time working on a problem that was troubling me, and I fell asleep with my consciousness filled with the conviction of the omnipresence and omnipotence of our Father-Mother, God. I was awakened in the middle of the night by the sound of rain, and I went into another room to close the windows. I had to pass an open staircase, and in the dark I stepped too close to the edge, and fell headlong to the bottom. My mother-in-law, who came to my assistance, found me unconscious, but in a moment I opened my eyes, and in another moment I was able to rise and walk without assistance. The picture which mortal mind tried to present was anything but pleasant, but I mentally denied it, and went back to bed, where I continued to work until morning. I was able to rise, dress without help, and return to my own home near by, where I resumed my household duties without interruption. With the loving assistance of a Christian Science practitioner broken bones healed in a very short time, and a head wound closed in twenty-four hours.

I am most grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church; to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower; and to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, through whom we have received this healing and regenerating truth.—(Mrs.) Mary Lavare Flanders, West Hartford, Connecticut.
