Enlarging Our Horizons

IT is the sincere desire of every student of Christian Science to experience progress in his daily study and application of the truth. In Isaiah we find the admonition, "Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes."

Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, gives us a daily requirement to go up higher spiritually when she says in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 233): "Every day makes its demands upon us for higher proofs rather than professions of Christian power. These proofs consist solely in the destruction of sin, sickness, and death by the power of Spirit, as Jesus destroyed them. This is an element of progress, and progress is the law of God, whose law demands of us only what we can certainly fulfil."

Spiritual discernment reveals true healing to consist of the attaining of that spiritual consciousness which knows only harmony. Mortal mind is powerless to deprive the alert Christian Scientist of a larger realization of harmony and an increased ability to experience more of the abundance of ever-present good.
