Among the Churches

Current Notes

KALAMAZOO, MICHIGAN (Second Church).—Representing an example of typical New England colonial architecture, the new church structure of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, of Kalamazoo, was dedicated on Sunday, January 8, 1939. Identical services of dedication were conducted in the morning and in the evening.

The new church is entirely debt-free. Construction was started April 19, 1938, and the church was completed November 23. The Thanksgiving service was the first to be held in the new church.

Formal recognition of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, of Kalamazoo, was granted by The Christian Science Board of Directors of The Mother Church on July 15, 1932. In December, 1933, the property at West Main Street and Woodward Avenue was purchased.
