From Letters, Substantially as Published

An article in a recent issue of your paper referred very kindly to the success of Christian Science in its ministration of healing, and this was duly appreciated. But when crediting Christian Science with ability to heal, your contributor quoted a physician as saying: "It is easier to understand why Christian Science succeeds than why our stupidity is not abated by its lessons. Its success should have convinced us of the tremendous part the mind plays in disease."

The physician's statement as above given seems to imply that the doctor considered the human mind as being a factor in the accomplishment of Christian Science healing, but nothing could be farther from the truth. Christian Science sets forth the absolute necessity of depending on divine Mind, God, alone, for release from discordant conditions.
