It is with the deepest gratitude for what the study and application of Christian Science have done for me, that this testimony is given.

I had known of Christian Science for a number of years, but did not turn unreservedly to its teachings until a crisis came, and I was forced to lean on some power beyond human strength. I feel the most sincere gratitude to the practitioner, who, during this crisis, gently led my thought away from material conditions into the realm of spiritual truths. During the years of adjustment, Christian Science has been a daily guide, and has indeed brought me into the land of peace. For all the mental victories gained, I cannot express enough gratitude.

My first physical healing was of grippe, when, after a day of almost delirium, I telephoned to a practitioner. Her assurance of healing brought a good night's rest, and complete healing the next morning. My joy that day knew no bounds; I had proved that Christian Science heals physical conditions as well as mental. Since that time, it has been my privilege to overcome many false claims regarding health. As a young girl, I had never been rugged; periodic nervous breakdowns interfered with school and pleasures. Through the study and application of Christian Science, a correct sense of health has been established in my consciousness. Some of the healings I have experienced include those of two severe burns; a dislocated bone in the wrist, which was instantaneously healed through the help of a practitioner, when I was willing to rely radically on Truth for healing; and a sprained ankle, which was immediately relieved. An unusual tooth extraction was performed very harmoniously, and none of the aftereffects laid down by a well-meaning dentist were experienced; chronic ills have also disappeared; and many other healings, too numerous to relate, have been beautifully brought about through a clear realization of perfect God and perfect man.

I have had to apply the truth quickly in time of accident. The following stands out as a beautiful proof of the availability of Truth to meet any situation. While my mother and I were doing the laundry together, my mother's hand was drawn into the wringer. When I saw this, I immediately declared God's presence, and was led quickly to push the lever that stopped, but did not release, the wringer. As I pushed the lever, I said, "God releases." The picture of error vanished from my consciousness, and I saw my mother with her hand out of the wringer. From the moment that we had seen the condition and started our declarations of Truth, the hand went no farther through the wringer, although the clothes which had drawn the hand with them had apparently continued, for the wringer was clear. We decided that since nothing had happened to God's perfect, spiritual idea, there could be no aftereffects. There was no pain, swelling, or discoloration, and in twenty minutes my mother was back at the wringer, continuing the work. This experience was so holy to us that we found it impossible to share it with the family at the time, and it was many months before the testimony could be given publicly.

The availability of Truth has been proved to me many times in driving a car. Divine understanding has enabled us to take the car safely up hills in time of snow and ice; and once we were enabled to descend an ice-covered hill, without mishap, through a maze of cars which were unable to climb it. When we found ourselves in this situation, we calmly waited until we were sure of the command to "go forward." Then we obeyed, in spite of what seemed an impossible task. We were rewarded with clear proof that divine Mind had guided us, at a time when human judgment seemed to be of no avail.

Words can never express my gratitude for the unfoldment which has come as a result of class instruction, which was a demonstration in every detail.
