Divine Sonship

Love lies securely hid in every breast,
Our common birthright of divine descent;
And he whose every energy is spent
Claiming his sonship, is most surely blest.
Each sin o'ercome, each mortal wrong redressed,
Each step upon the way the Master went
With loyal heart, and holy discontent
With aught but good, proves God through man expressed.

This is our lifework! Oh, what joy is ours
To manifest the love, the healing powers,
That Jesus used! For of himself, he said,
He wrought no sign save in the Father's name;
And he has promised we shall do the same,
When we, like him, are by God's spirit fed.
