A recent issue includes an article on Christian Science which contains a number of incorrect statements, and as such an article will give anyone reading it an erroneous impression of the teachings of Christian Science, the following information is offered to your readers.

Mrs. Eddy's purpose in founding the Church of Christ, Scientist, was stated by her to be the reinstatement of "primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing" (Church Manual, p. 17). When this is realized, it is possible to understand something of the enormous difficulties which confronted her, and it is a monument to her memory that she not only succeeded in organizing a church and a world-wide movement, but established it on such a basis that it has gone on increasing in strength and usefulness.
