"Need and supply"

One of the most insistent problems of the day is the question of how the various legitimate needs of humanity may be satisfied. This subject engages the attention of eminent people, and committees in different countries have worked out plans by means of which material supply may be increased to meet demand. These plans always include the time element, and this at once places them in the realm of the finite and limited.

Christian Science provides the solution for the problem of supply, because it builds squarely on the basis of one infinite God, good, and His spiritual creation, expressed in the innumerable ideas which reflect Him. In this creation lack and limitation are unknown, because there is no limit to the infinity of good. So, the appearance of shortage and dearth in the world makes it evident that the remedy for its troubles lies in radically spiritual thinking.

Jesus understood spiritual creation perfectly, and demonstrated his understanding by his works, which included the feeding of five thousand. It is strange humanity has not given closer attention to his method of solving problems, since its own attempts have been largely unsuccessful.
