Albany, New York (First Church).—Fifty years ago, a small group of men and women met in a private home in Loudonville and started the study and practice of the Principle of Christian Science as revealed by their Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. Gradually, the movement grew.

On November 21, 1937, her followers dedicated their new edifice, entirely debt free, at Madison Avenue and Quail Street. Regular Sunday services were held in the morning, afternoon, and evening.

The edifice has an auditorium with a seating capacity of four hundred and a Sunday school room in the basement to accommodate three hundred. Other special rooms have been provided for the literature distribution committee, board of trustees, First and Second Reader, the soloist, and for other purposes.
