About twelve years ago I was mentally and physically ill...
About twelve years ago I was mentally and physically ill. For sixteen months I had been under medical treatment for throat trouble and infected glands. After an operation by a noted specialist, I was told that nothing more could be done for me. The operation had left me with a suppurating sore on my neck, which did not heal completely. I always felt tired, and when I had a slight cold my neck would swell, causing me great discomfort. A short time later a domestic problem arose which made me very unhappy, and still further weakened me physically. Having a young child to care for, I had to go on.
It was under such circumstances that Christian Science was presented to me by a devoted sister. I seemed ready to try anything, and humbly accepted what she told me. She instructed me to read the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly and some Science literature. On the following Sunday I attended a Christian Science service, and I shall never forget the peace and rested feeling that came over me. A few days later I went to see a practitioner, and again peace was experienced. She lovingly agreed to help me, and in a short time the depressing mental condition lifted, and I regained strength and courage. The weariness also disappeared, leaving me free and happy. The faithful work of the practitioner also healed me of resentment; and with this healing the physical trouble yielded entirely, and has not returned. The domestic problem was also harmoniously solved for all concerned.
During the past three years I have had such infallible proofs of God's unfailing love, protection, strength, and provision that I should like to share them with others.
