According to a news item which appeared in the Globe and Mail recently, a clergyman is reported as having said, "God doesn't encourage you to violate the laws of life, and that is what faith-healing is doing."

Christian Science is not, accurately speaking, faith-healing, but as many people are apt to regard it as such, we feel that the reverend gentleman's remark calls for a reply.

According to Scriptural record, Jesus said on one occasion, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil." And his whole ministry was spent in healing the sick and the sinning, and instructing his disciples how to do likewise.
