Invitation of the Reading Room

To the tired traveler
On the dusty road,
Wearied by the toiling,
Burdened by the load,
There's an invitation
To a feast divine;
There's a voice that's saying:
Stranger, come and dine!

Love hath set a table,
Richly on it spread
Wine of inspiration,
Store of heaven's bread.
Traveler, drop thy burden,
Leave thy load of care,
Enter in and feast thee
On Love's ample fare!

Thou shalt find refreshment,
Feel supernal youth
Flood with joy thy being
Feasting on God's truth.
When thou journeyest onward
After thou hast fed,
Light shall be thy burden—
Buoyant be thy tread!
