Out of deep gratitude for the many blessings I have received through the understanding of Christian Science, I desire to tell of a healing which came while I was Reader in a Christian Science Society in an eastern state.

When I was elected, many reasons as to why I should not accept the office presented themselves; one reason was that I had a goiter which was quite noticeable; another, an occasional slight lameness troubled me; also there was a fear of weather conditions, as the place where the services were held was thirteen miles from our home. I decided to overcome all these beliefs by leaving the matter with God, knowing that if it was right to do this work He would support me. I found much joy and help in the work; and one Sunday morning a few weeks later, while I was reading from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, a wonderful inspiration came to me, a realization of God's presence and power. After the service there was a great sense of freedom, and on reaching home I found I could run down the stairs and was free from the lameness. In a few days a member of the family called my attention to the smaller appearance of the goiter. In a short time it disappeared, and my neck was entirely normal. This demonstration of healing occurred ten years ago, and has been permanent. Fear of weather conditions was also overcome.

I am grateful for the activities of The Mother Church and branch churches, for the periodicals, for the healing message which Christian Science is bringing to all mankind, and for the practitioners who are so lovingly devoting their time to the healing work of Christian Science.
