A clergyman writing in your issue of August 24 implies that Christian Science healings are wrought by suggestion, but that it is essential to suggest to the patient that there has been no suggestion. He continues, "This the Christian Science healers know well."

A Christian Science healing is a demonstration of Truth. Any deception would be fatal to its success.

Christian Science healing has nothing to do with the influence of one human mind upon another. Mrs. Eddy writes on page xi of the Preface to the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," "The physical healing of Christian Science results now, as in Jesus' time, from the opetation of divine Principle, before which sin and disease lose their reality in human consciousness and disappear as naturally and as necessarily as darkness gives place to light and sin to reformation."
