[Original testimony in French]
I shall never be able to say enough about all that Christian Science...
I shall never be able to able to say enough about all that Christian Science has done for me. I was healed of grief some years ago when I was alone, sick and friendless, and error seemed to be striking at me from every side. I found in God, the perfect source, peace, calm, health, and joy.
One evening, after receiving a distressing letter, I was taken with a fit of despair, and asked in my anguish that I might sleep and never wake again on this earth, where my burden was too heavy to bear. It occurred to me to open my Bible, which was near me, and my eyes fell on this sentence in Isaiah: "As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you." In that moment, peace, calm, joy, assurance overflowed me. I began to feel the presence of divine Love, which comforts and heals. I felt happy and in good health.
How often in difficulties I have turned with my cares to God, and have found Him a sure guide, illuming my way! One day I read in the Herald (French edition) that it is necessary to lake God's hand, and having a desire to do so, I found the occasion some days later. As I was crossing the street a cyclist ran me down. At first it seemed as if I had not been hurt, but a few moments later my leg was so painful that I found it impossible to walk. I had a little sense of fear, but very soon remembered that it is necessary to take God's hand, that is, to turn to the ever-presence of divine Love, which is always ready to help. Once again deliverance was instantaneous, and I at once went on my way, praising God for His great love.
