It is because I have received so much help from testimonies in the Journal and the Sentinel that I am sending mine along with the hope that it will benefit someone.
My first healing through Christian Science was that of tuberculosis, over fifteen years ago. Since then I have had numerous physical healings, among them those of colds, constipation, sore throat, athlete's foot, and headaches which were so severe that hypodermics were given me for relief. About seven years ago I was wearing glasses, and upon entering a position where I felt glasses should not be worn by a Christian Scientist I took up work for this condition. I studied all that Mrs. Eddy says about eyes, but still needed to wear the glasses. Finally, one night I asked myself just what I really wanted more than anything else, and I quickly answered, "Spirituality." Then the question came, Do you need glasses for this? and I replied, No! I then determined to lay them aside, and the next day, after some severe mental struggles, put them away and have had no need of them since. Positions have been obtained through the application of Christian Science, usually as soon as I overcame the belief of discouragement.
As I go along in the study of this Science, I find that physical ailments are few and far between, and for this I am grateful. Through the application of Christian Science I recently learned to swim. I nearly drowned several years ago, and this had left me extremely afraid of the water, but gradually this fear was overcome, and now I feel quite free in deep water. I am also very grateful for a harmonious home and companionship which has come to me during the past three years; to have the co-operation of one who loves the Cause of Christian Science as much as I do is a cause for deep gratitude.
