For nearly twenty years I have been studying the teachings of Christian Science, and through this study numberless blessings have come to me.

In 1916 things seemed very dark. Gall-bladder trouble caused me great suffering. I felt so weakened from the frightful pains that I was hardly in a condition to speak aloud. The doctor advised me to have an operation, but I could not decide to consent to this, as my husband was at the time on border duty and I was alone with my two children. I prayed fervently to God for help.

One day a kind friend visited me and told me of a wonderful healing which she had experienced through Christian Science. In my need I turned instantly to a practitioner, who readily gave me help. Through her declarations the glorious facts of spiritual being, the truth about God and man, were revealed to me. Complete healing came in a short time and has been permanent. Happiness, however, was not yet attained, for I was suffering from a cataract. My fear of becoming blind was terrible. Again I turned to the practitioner, and she declared comfortingly to me that God is light and that in Him is no darkness. Happy and grateful for the help received, I went home and held firmly to this truth. Soon I was able to lay aside the glasses which I had worn for several years, and I should like to state that I was able to fill the office of First Reader in a branch church fifteen years later without needing to use them.
