I wish to express my gratitude for the many blessings I...

I wish to express my gratitude for the many blessings I have received since taking up the study of Christian Science. Some healings have come through my own efforts to know the truth and others with the help of practitioners. The first healing I received, about fourteen years ago, from the study and application of Christian Science was of hernia. A few years later I was healed of a badly infected arm in two days, after asking help of a practitioner. A more recent healing was of a severe case of heart trouble. In our family we have had healings of colds, influenza, dropsy, pneumonia, rheumatism, and many other discordant conditions. This truth has been applied not only to physical difficulties, but also to my work and to my everyday affairs and problems.

When I first began reading Science and Health, the passage on page 550, where Mrs. Eddy says, "God is the Life, or intelligence, which forms and preserves the individuality and identity of animals as well as of men," appealed to me greatly, as I had always been a lover of animals, and I was very grateful to know that this truth could be applied to any discordant condition which might confront them as well as myself. A horse which was badly cut on the leg was healed by a practitioner after the veterinarian had told us the horse would never be able to walk again.

I am very grateful for all these healings, and for the love and patience on the part of all the practitioners who have so kindly assisted me. I am grateful for our lectures and our literature, for membership in The Mother Church and in our local branch church, and for the wonderful experience of class instruction.
