Many Christian denominations today are recognizing the necessity for spiritual healing, and there is frequent acknowledgment that this awakening is due to Christian Science. This Science asks no one to accept anything upon anyone's ipse dixit, and it invites full investigation.

Quite possibly many "great and learned people" may not agree with Christian Science—neither did the learned men of that day agree with Jesus and his teaching two thousand years ago. Nevertheless, there are a good many who are acknowledging and using its influence for good in world problems today in important posts.

There is nothing "puzzling" in my statement that Christian Scientists appreciate all devoted efforts on behalf of suffering humanity. Christian Scientists recognize that many people desire medical treatment, and they accord to them the right to have what they desire. They appreciate love and unselfishness wherever they are found, endorsing the words of Mary Baker Eddy on this subject when she says (Science and Health, p. 151): "Great respect is due the motives and philanthropy of the higher class of physicians. We know that if they understood the Science of Mind-healing, and were in possession of the enlarged power it confers to benefit the race physically and spiritually, they would rejoice with us." The science of mathematics does not change its methods to suit individual opinions, and neither does the Science of Christianity. Christian Science is saving the lives of many of those whom doctors have given up to die.
