In the March 26th issue of your paper there appeared a letter under the heading "Straight and Narrow Way," in which reference was made to Christian Science as "one big wolf today, which denies the blood of Jesus to cleanse of sin," and infers that it does not fulfill the Golden Rule. I therefore ask that you kindly give space in your paper for correction.

In Christian Science we are taught to seek the spiritual significance of Jesus' words and works and thereby find their practical import to humanity today. Thus, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, wrote in "No and Yes" (pp. 34, 35): "Love bruised and bleeding, yet mounting to the throne of glory in purity and peace, over the steps of uplifted humanity,—this is the deep significance of the blood of Christ. Nameless woe, everlasting victories, are the blood, the vital currents of Christ Jesus' life, purchasing the freedom of mortals from sin and death. This blood of Jesus is everything to human hope and faith. Without it, how poor the precedents of Christianity!"

It is quite evident that the author of this letter has not read the Tenets of our church, the last one of which I quote (Church Manual, p. 16): "And we solemnly promise to watch, and pray for that Mind to be in us which was alsoin Christ Jesus; to do unto others as we would have them do unto us; and to be merciful, just, and pure."
