In addressing you today I realize I am speaking to an audience composed of individuals whose lifework is a constant battle. The warfare in which you are engaged is a lusty warfare, an interesting one, for it is the overcoming of ignorance.

I believe you will agree with me that the progress of the human race may be appraised by the capacity of each generation for right thinking. In other words, to the extent that men express intelligence, to that extent they overcome the limitations, perils, and frustrations encompassing humanity—all self-imposed through ignorance, superstition, and fear.

In the last analysis the scholar and the physicist must turn to the Bible for spiritual truth. To the Master, the laws of Spirit were potent, evident, and real, while the so-called material laws were not real. The things of Spirit were substantial; the things of matter unsubstantial. He came, he said, that we "might have life, and ... have it more abundantly." He taught the truth about Spirit and spiritual law. He demonstrated by his life and works the practicality of what he taught.
