From early childhood I suffered a great deal from nervousness...

From early childhood I suffered a great deal from nervousness and timidity due to a deformity. As I grew into manhood, this caused me increased embarrassment and a dislike to associate with my fellow men. It had a tendency to make me moody and despondent, destroyed my ability to think clearly, and left me in a state of mind without hope or God in the world, tempting me at times to end it all by self-destruction. At this point I turned to Christian Science, and through the help of a practitioner I was lifted out of this slough of despond and given a brighter and happier outlook on life.

After my first interview with an earnest student of this wonderful teaching my heart longed to know more of this great truth, and I at once became desirous to have a part in helping to carry on this beautiful religion. Since coming into Christian Science I have had the privilege of helping to serve the Cause in many ways by taking an active part in church work. I am grateful that my wife and I have had the opportunity of having class instruction together. It has certainly proved a wonderful blessing to us in many ways. I can sincerely say that this uplifting study has given me an inner victory over self which words cannot express. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, with the aid of a practitioner now and then, has been our only physician for the past quarter century. I am truly grateful.
