Such as I Have

My pennies may not take thee far,
O passing friend with piteous plea,
But like to Peter long ago,
Such as I have give I to thee.

Such as I have! 'Tis knowledge rich
Of man's real selfhood, lacking naught,
Of God—his Father, Mother, All!
True wealth is this, with healing fraught.

Such as I have, come friend and share!
A benediction lasting, sweet,
Shall rest upon us both the while,
And Love be found midst crowded street.

My pennies may not take thee far,
Nor all the gains thy pleas have won;
But let the truth I give be thine:
In Christ's name rise—thou art God's son!
