Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Relations with the newspaper men of the province have been of a very friendly nature. Assistant Committees at towns where newspapers are published, have reported, and expressed gratitude for, the kindly consideration and courtesy extended to them when submitting Christian Science matter for publication.

There have been no direct attacks on our faith or Leader, and where either has been wrongly associated with isms or cults, with which we have no connection, interviews with the responsible members of the editorial staff have invariably led to an expression of regret and an offer of space for a reply.

In one incident the subeditor of an Afrikaans daily paper, in an article unfavorable to a certain modern cult, under misapprehension made an undesirable reference to Christian Scientists and their Leader. When he was interviewed by the Committee he at once offered space for a reply to his own article, and when that was sent in, published it just as it was written.
