Words could never express my gratitude for the privilege of becoming associated with Christian Science.

I once heard a gentleman give a testimony in which he said he was so grateful that Christian Science had taught him to live rightly, and I am so happy to say that it has done that for me also. For years my idea of living and enjoying life was drinking and smoking—very often to excess—until this "riotous living" manifested itself in a very sick body. I had medical treatment for a long period of time, but like the woman in the Bible I "was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse." The doctor in charge said that I needed an operation, but that due to a very bad heart I could never survive. I then turned to Christian Science, and the very fact that I am here today proves what this Science can do for us when we reach out for its healing power.

I was instantaneously healed of the drinking and smoking habits during my first visit to a practitioner. Needless to say, the operation was never performed. This healing took place over six years ago. Many of my friends, when they found out that I had overcome these false appetites, would say to me that I was getting too good and that I was going to die soon, but my answer always was, "I am just beginning to live."
