Under the healing of "Questions and Answers," Christian Science was dealt with in your issue of August 24. The subject needs some explanation and in some points a correction.

Mrs. Eddy, after her healing from injuries incurred by a fall on the ice in February, 1866, got a clearer and clearer understanding that it is divine Mind, in the Bible called Spirit, Truth, Love, God, alone that heals; that the divine Mind, not matter, is the substance of all being; that man, the real man as God's image, is the perfect expression of Truth. Then the healing of Christ Jesus appeared to her as the natural consequence of his spirituality, and she could understand why he promised that his disciples should do such healings as "signs following." She understood clearly that human will cannot heal, and she warned insistently against using it. Healings through divine Love have occurred through all the centuries; but it certainly is to the credit of Mrs. Eddy that, in the materialistic nineteenth century, she taught and demonstrated that Christ, Truth, is still the redeemer from all evil, not only from sin, but also from sickness and all other misery that is torturing humanity.
