Deeply stirred by so many proofs of divine Love, I think with a grateful heart of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, the Science which is leading us to a new life, to a life that is something deeper and more substantial than we were conscious of before.

Whoever has been studying Christian Science for some time knows that when a sin has been recognized, the way to correct it has been found. This step has meant to me the tremendous experience of gaining inward freedom, freedom from great mental anguish over the seeming loss of a beloved son, freedom from the chains of fear which would constantly obstruct the way to spiritual freedom by sending me various kinds of distress. Thus, with the help of a practitioner, I was freed from a severe attack of sciatica. The problem of finding a new home, the solution of which seemed very difficult, was wonderfully solved with Christian Science help. I have learned that it is always necessary to establish the divine order in myself first of all, to heal the discord within by weeding out the mortal thoughts of discord and selfishness, thus making room for the positive sentiments of joy, peace, patience, friendliness, meekness.

With great gratitude I recall the healing of my husband, twenty years ago, of an old stomach trouble; but his healing from severe blood poisoning in the foot made a still greater impression on me. Fear had so taken possession of us that, according to human belief, the fever had risen alarmingly high. It was at this point that divine Love sent us the practitioner, and after three hours' treatment the temperature was normal. The swelling in the foot went down and the two red lines, which were visible from the foot to the thigh, disappeared altogether. This healing in Christian Science was the most beautiful thing we have ever experienced. I cannot describe how happy it made us, and how it strengthened our faith in God's ever-present help.
