Security

Webster defines "security" in part as, "Freedom from fear, anxiety or care; ... safety," and gives as synonyms, "Protection, defense, guard, shelter."

The beloved Master, Christ Jesus, when addressing his disciples on the subject of worldly carefulness, admonished them that they seek first "the kingdom of God," and assured them that all needful things would be added. Their heavenly Father would give them wisdom and right judgment whereby to meet their needs. He himself never failed to rely on God; and he said, "I can of mine own self do nothing."

The Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, writes in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 19): "Those who cannot demonstrate, at least in part, the divine Principle of the teachings and practice of our Master have no part in God. If living in disobedience to Him, we ought to feel no security, although God is good."
