I should like to express my gratitude for many healings, four of which were instantaneous.

The first stands out more clearly than all the others, as I had just finished a so-called cure for chronic indigestion and had told that I could never really be healed and should always need to be careful of what I ate. Before I went for this treatment, a friend had written me that she had just been healed of the same complaint through Christian Science, and begged me to try it, but I did not feel any confidence in Christian Science.

Three months later, before leaving for India, I met her and saw the great change in her. As we sat and talked she told me in the simplest words how unnecessary it is for us to suffer; that God loves us, and that by realizing His love and care we need fear nothing. I was healed on the spot. From that day I could eat everything I had been told to avoid. I started to study Christian Science in earnest. It seemed to me so beautiful that one who had only just come into Science herself could heal another so quickly, and surely this is a warning to all to get rid of the idea that they do not know enough to help one another. The explanation of the love of God for His children and His being all good was suddenly very clear to me, and many times have I proved it since.
