About seventeen years ago I was healed of advanced tubercular symptoms and of so-called aftereffects of several major operations. The surgeons had said that I had not one chance in a thousand. My mother thought I was passing on when she telephoned to my aunt, who is a Christian Scientist. The latter came to my bedside at once, after reassuring my mother that God was my life and that I could not be separated from Him. The surgeons were amazed at my return to consciousness and said it was a miracle, but they predicted that I should always be an invalid.

Shortly thereafter I threw out all my medicines and began to study Christian Science earnestly. A practitioner lovingly worked for me for one week, during which the tubercular symptoms disappeared, never to return. My mother and sister began the study of this wonderful truth. The former, through her reliance on the understanding she had gained, was healed of pneumonia, to which she had seemed subject. My sister was healed of goiter, which had not yielded to a year's treatment by a specialist. My brother was healed of acute appendicitis in one Christian Science treatment. The doctors had said he must be operated upon immediately. We asked him to try Science, and he asked for a practitioner. In three days he was able to resume his work, which at that time was very heavy shoveling. He has never had a return of the trouble.

A few years ago a growth on my mother's head began to give her trouble and as it increased in size many friends urged her to have it removed by surgery. It became such a problem that she wrote to my sister and me about it. We urged her to stand firm and know that the only operation necessary was the operation of God's Word, which was always effective. In a few days the growth opened without help and disappeared painlessly. Her friends and neighbors were amazed and did not hesitate to give the credit to Christian Science.
