As a child I was taught to believe in a Supreme Being

As a child I was taught to believe in a Supreme Being. It was my mother's desire that we children attend one of the Protestant Sunday schools, but that we should be free to make our own choice of religion when the time should come to make that choice. I prayed silently each night for guidance and for a clearer concept of the kingdom of heaven, though, seemingly, I prayed "TO THE UNKNOWN GOD."

Sometime later, I saw a beautiful proof of Christian Science through the healing of a case of pulmonary tuberculosis; but I did not realize that this was the voice of Truth in answer to my prayer, until an eye trouble appeared that failed to yield to medical treatment, and my employer, a student of Christian Science, asked me to try Science. An appointment was made with a practitioner, and after three treatments the healing was complete. In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 590) Mrs. Eddy defines "kingdom of heaven" as, "The reign of harmony in divine Science; the realm of unerring, eternal, and omnipotent Mind; the atmosphere of Spirit, where Soul is supreme."

I have seen many proofs of God's loving care since this first healing. Intestinal influenza, acute indigestion, severe colds every winter, fatigue, and many other physical problems have disappeared through the application of Christian Science. I am especially grateful for the healing of intestinal influenza. There were many attacks over a period of two years, and I am very grateful to the practitioner who saw the nothingness of this ailment.
