From Letters, Substantially as Published

In his letter in your issue of February 1, "Arran Hills"...

Kilmarnock Herald

In his letter in your issue of February 1, "Arran Hills" writes that he is puzzled that Christian Scientists aver that all disease is of mental origin.

The truth of the statement that essentially everything is thought is today being acknowledged more and more, but Christian Scientists are learning, further, to discern between the real and unreal, between that which is the manifestation of the infinite divine Mind, which is God, and thought which is but the phenomena of human belief.

The various phases of human belief which your correspondent calls physical processes, claim to hold sway or operate in a material sense of the universe. In proportion, however, as Christian Scientists gain a right apprehension of the truth of being, they are able to prove the unreality of this material sense of the universe.

Accidents may arise from various reasons, but they can be prevented or their effects removed by the knowledge that they are unknown to God and do not occur in the spiritual universe created by Him. This fact is capable of demonstration in human experience.
