If,
in the course of our experience, we meet with a difficulty which we seem unable to overcome, shall we then cease to walk in the straight and narrow way of Truth and permit discouragement to claim our thoughts?
To
those who are burdened with a sense of lack of education the following words of our inspired Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, are filled with hope and power.
Father,
I thank Thee for a fruitful day,A day that offered opportunityTo help a struggling brother to be free,A day wherein the Christ has been revealed,And someone sent along the wayRejoicing, healed!
In his letter in your issue of February 1, "Arran Hills" writes that he is puzzled that Christian Scientists aver that all disease is of mental origin.
With
the consent of the Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy, we are happy to announce that excerpts from her letters are to be published regularly in the Christian Science periodicals.
Jesus
paid a wonderful tribute to the thought of the child when he said to his disciples, "Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven".
Christian Scientists who read with gratitude the announcement by The Christian Science Board of Directors in this issue may be interested to note the following excerpt from a statement by this Board in the Sentinel of January 21, 1928.
It is with a heart full of gratitude to God for His unfailing help at all times, and to our dear Leader for making it possible for each one of us to follow more closely in the footsteps of the Master, that I write this testimony.
Through an acquaintance I heard about Christian Science, and I read "Rudimental Divine Science" and "No and Yes" by Mary Baker Eddy, in which I became more and more interested and absorbed.
Deep gratitude for the innumerable blessings which Christian Science has bestowed upon me, and a desire to share with others some of my experiences, prompt me to send my testimony for publication, with the hope that another may find encouragement therein.
Children
of God and heirs of His dominion!Doubt not nor fear, nor ever be dismayed;God loves His own; He guides the trembling footstepsOf every child who from His care has strayed.
