The station announcer said: Good afternoon, Ladies and Gentleman: It is Columbia's pleasure to present another program in the sixth consecutive year of the "Church of the Air" series. The service today is coming to you from Station WBBM, Chicago, and is approved by The Christian Science Board of Directors of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. The broadcast is conducted by Harold Molter, Christian Science Committee on Publication for the State of Illinois. The subject of Mr. Molter's address is "Radical Reliance on God." Music will be furnished by Arthur Edmunds, soloist, assisted by a WBBM staff organist. We now give the service into the hands of Mr. Molter.

Hymn 93 from the Christian Science Hymnal was sung. Mr. Molter then read an address substantially as follows:

In the book of Proverbs we read: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Almost two thousand years ago, Christ Jesus proved the truth of this statement. His earthly experience was characterized by his complete surrender to God in every thought and deed. He said, "I can of mine own self do nothing;" and, "The Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works."
