Over three years ago, when impelled to turn to Christian Science,...
Over three years ago, when impelled to turn to Christian Science, I gave up entirely the use of material remedies for relief from physical ailments and resolved to rely only on God, who is Life, Truth, and Love. Since then healings have followed far more readily and more effectively than when drugs were used.
Very often one hears those uninstructed in Christian Science express the opinion that it is most efficacious in the case of nervous or so-called imaginary diseases. My experience has proved this to be erroneous, for while it took me nearly two years to eliminate the nervous disorder by which I was handled, physical ailments with which I was beset during that time were taken care of in short order, some instantaneously.
I am thankful for the privilege of having experienced many healings, among which were those of colds, grippe, tonsillitis, indigestion, a blistered toe, a troublesome tooth, and a pain in the abdomen, which brought on a great fear of appendicitis. Also I am grateful for the healing of fear of passing on, and of a nervous disorder which seemed very difficult to dispel. The desire for smoking cigarettes left me without any specific work being done in connection therewith, whereas before my study of Christian Science I had tried several times to stop smoking, without lasting results.
