Our Daily Prayer

" 'Thy kingdom come;' ... and may Thy Word enrich the affections of all mankind, and govern them!"—Church Manual (Art. VIII, Sect. 4), by Mary Baker Eddy.

There is a prayer which circles all the nations;
A prayer of peace whose voice is mightier far
Than all the din of fear's reverberations,
Whose power is swifter than the swords of war.

In every land its beacon light is burning;
O'er widest seas its blessing is unfurled,
As humble hearts in constant prayer are holding
Faith-lighted torch of hope for all the world.

O mighty prayer! No temporal barriers bind thee,
Sanctioned by Love, by heavenly wisdom willed;
Spread till the hearts of all mankind shall find thee,
And the desire of nations be fulfilled.
