Previous to coming into Christian Science I was in a wilderness of doubt and fear, wondering if there was a God, and if so, praying that He would lead me in the right path, as I was very much discouraged with life and always had something the matter with me.
When I was led to Christian Science I asked a practitioner to explain Science to me. When this was done, I realized that I had found God and His truth, which I could understand. I had been extremely nervous when Christian Science found me. This claim had seemed to follow me from childhood and had interfered with many of my undertakings. I asked for Science treatment, which was lovingly given me. I was asked to read Proverbs 3:5, 6, and these verses were explained to me so that I learned not to lean upon my own understanding, but to lean upon God under all conditions.
On returning home that evening I realized clearly for the first time that God is Love, and I could see His universe as spiritual and His children as spiritual ideas, and as each individual came into my presence the next day I saw him in this light; then suddenly the vision dawned upon me of the true creation. I was lifted up into a new world, and a wonderful sense of joy and happiness came into my thought. This seemed like a miracle to me, as previous to this experience I had never known what true joy was. This gave me a desire to study and find the origin of this healing. I had glimpsed heaven in a degree, and that experience has always stood by me, no matter what the problem seemed to be that faced me.
