A report in the Herald of May 8 includes untrue statements which call for correction by this committee.

Christian Science does not deny the divine trinity revealed in the Bible. On the contrary, Christian Science elucidates and makes it clear, understandable, helpful. But the three persons in one person of creeds is not the pure monotheism of Scriptural teaching which Christian Science explains. Many passages in Mrs. Eddy's writings clarify this truth. In her Message to The Mother Church for 1901, for example, she writes (p. 4), "Christian Scientists consistently conceive of God as One because He is infinite; and as triune, because He is Life, Truth, Love, and these three are one in essence and in office."

Christian Science emphatically does not deny the virgin birth of our Lord, as is alleged. Here, again, as always, Christian Science is true to the Scriptures, giving clear and acceptable explanations of the Virgin-mother's immaculate conception of the Bethlehem babe.
