More than four years ago I came from darkness into the light of Christian Science. Words cannot express my gratitude. The spiritual uplifting has been wonderful, to say nothing of the physical healings.

For years I had suffered the most excruciating pains and had been a great care and expense to my loved ones. I finally became a cripple and had to wear a heavy steel brace on my back. My case was pronounced incurable. I had tried health resorts; had been treated by doctors and specialists; had taken osteopathic, homeopathic, and chiropractic treatments; had a major and minor operation; had been fitted to glasses; and had some teeth extracted—all to no avail.

I was in the depths of despair when a Christian Scientist recommended that I try Science. Like a drowning person willing to grasp at anything, I inquired of her what I must do. She told me to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. That day I began to read, and for almost three days I read, alternating from Science and Health to the Bible, praying earnestly for divine guidance. The first chapter of the textbook was such a spiritual revelation, and such a departure from my early teaching and beliefs, that great as was my desire for healing, still greater became my desire for the truth.
