I wish to express my gratitude for all the blessings which have come into my life through Christian Science. For twenty-three years it has been a never-failing help in all my difficulties.

Many physical healings have come to our children and to me. Whooping cough was quickly overcome through the help of a practitioner, to whom I telephoned at noon, asking for help for the three children. By evening of the same day I realized that two of the children were free; the other child was healed within a week. One of our daughters was healed of astigmatism in a short time. Measles was overcome in two hours by steadfastly holding to the truth about man. My son was freed from a serious infection on the head which spread so rapidly that in three days the forehead and chin showed deep marks and caused a terrible sense of fear on the part of his teachers at school and among his friends. I tried to meet the difficulty myself, but found that I was not free from fear, so I asked a practitioner to come to the house. She did so, and spoke reassuringly to me and gave the child a treatment. The next morning his face and head showed such improvement that I could feel the burden of fear life. Within a week he returned to school, and the marks quickly disappeared. Everyone was deeply thankful for this healing, for many were the suggestions as to what the trouble might be.

As for myself, headaches caused by grief at the passing on of a dear one were overcome by expressing gratitude for all the good the children and I had received. One day when the pain seemed so severe that I was not able to read, I said, But I can think of something, and it will be of how much good I have already received. I became so interested in going over my many blessings that I did not realize just when the pain left me. This healing occurred over five years ago. In 1933 I was so greatly troubled by a pain in my left side that I was obliged to stay off my feet. Help was asked for, and I was so beautifully healed that during my holidays outside of Holland the following summer I enjoyed long walks in the hills, and sometimes I was on my feet all day.
