New Hope News
Your issue of October 11 carries a kindly reference to Christian Science as being beneficial, "no matter what church you belong to." This is a recognition of the fact that Christian Science is impartial in its nature and application, and should be duly appreciated by all. Moreover, Christian Science is limited in its application.
Therefore, the statement that "the Christian Science philosophy of 'thinking' good health and you'll have good health is good to a certain extent" falls short of the facts regarding the method of Christian Science. Again, to say that one must have "substantial practical helps to your thinking," may imply that spiritual intelligence must have some non-intelligent material remedy to aid it.
Kindly, therefore, permit me to present to your readers a few substantial, practical facts to help their thinking. Christian Science first came to the serious attention of people when it healed cases of illness and disease that could not be healed by any other method. Under such circumstances, it seems quite pertinent to ask, What practical help was needed in addition to the right thinking of the persons concerned? There is a further fact that probably the majority of people healed in Christian Science turned to it only when they found no relief from any other sources.
