The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

Gothenburg, Sweden (First Church).

Lecturer: Rev. Irving C. Tomlinson; introduced by Mrs. Valborg Westin, who said:—

Hardly ever have world conditions been more chaotic than now, and this in spite of all so-called sciences and inventions, which have failed to help mankind to gain peace and harmony. Christian Science reveals to us the divine Principle and its laws which, when rightly applied, will give us a blissful solution of the turbulent problems that have caused this chaos. Mary Baker Eddy says in "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" (p. 306), "Divinity alone solves the problem of humanity, and that in God's own time." Furthermore, we read in the Old Testament, "Be still, and know that I am God." Through the study of the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, we learn to understand the deep meaning of these words; and the spiritual understanding gained thereby helps us to save the world from worry and sufferings of every kind, be they physical, moral, or financial.
