I wish to express my profound gratitude for all that...
I wish to express my profound gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me. For several years I had been suffering from attacks of colic and from a kidney trouble. Some time ago these difficulties suddenly appeared again. I was so ill that a doctor had to be called. He diagnosed the trouble as colic, and a few days later as inflammation of the gall bladder and appendicitis. My condition became so much worse that a second doctor was called in. It was his opinion that I ought to go to the hospital for an operation.
That evening the pain was again very severe, and in our fear we thought of Christian Science. We had been interested in this teaching for some time, and had heard much good concerning it. A practitioner was called, who lovingly promised to work for me at once. I could scarcely grasp the wonderful thing that took place; in a short time the pain had disappeared. The next morning when the doctor called he was very much surprised to find me well. He kept asking me what we had done. The pain and fever had disappeared, and an operation was no longer deemed necessary. Through God's help I was healed. In a few days I was able to get up and eat anything set before me.
I am indeed grateful for this healing, and even more grateful that I have found God and know that He is ever present and omnipotent, that He is Love. I thank God for His goodness, Christ Jesus, and our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who gave us this divine gift. I am also grateful to the practitioner for his faithful work.
