Having received so many blessings from Christian Science, I feel it is a joy and privilege to express in words something of what this Science has done for me. From girlhood I had always been considered delicate, and was never able to take ordinary food with the rest of the family; neither was I able to join in games or sports at school.

When Christian Science was first presented to me I was suffering from heart trouble, ulcerated stomach, and insomnia. Our doctor gave no hope of recovery from the condition of the heart, and I was engaging a specialist with the hope of getting a better report. I paid him one visit, but had no occasion to keep the second appointment, for in the meantime Christian Science came to me. A Christian Scientists, who for some time had been watching me taking a short walk each day, which I did with the hope of gaining strength, recognized my need and approached my sister to inquire if she might send some Christian Science literature for me to read, as she felt sure it would help me. A few days later some Sentinels were sent to me. I took up one to read as soon as they arrived, and I remember thinking at the same time, How can reading these papers have anything to do with my recovery? I was full of the thought of medicines and sleeping drugs. When I began the reading I could not leave it. The truth poured into my thought. I at once gave up all medicines and bought "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I read it whenever I could, both day and night, until I had read it through, during which time I was healed; and in less than a month I had taken a post and was leading a busy, active, joyous, and free life. For over thirteen years Christian Science has been my only guide and physician. I owe all the good I have to its teachings.

During these years I have had ample opportunity to put its teachings into practice, and it has never failed me. I remember how I was helped when I saw that it is God's spiritual law which heals, and also that this law has been in operation from the beginning. I am grateful to God, to Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, to Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science; grateful also to the friend who saw my need and supplied it, and to all the practitioners who have so lovingly helped me on the way. I am also very grateful to be an active member in this wonderful movement.
