When a very young student of Christian Science I was...

When a very young student of Christian Science I was visiting in a distant city where the weather seemed so warm that it was the subject of conversation for several days. I had neglected to do mental work to protect my thinking, so I became a victim of heat prostration. Friends became very much frightened and insisted that I have a doctor. This I positively declined to do, but asked that they call a Christian Science practitioner, which was lovingly done. In less than half an hour I was entirely well and joined the family, who were very much surprised at the quick recovery. This was positive proof of the efficacy of absent treatment, as the practitioner lived several miles from me and I had never seen her. My belief in the statement that God "heaieth all thy diseases" was established beyond any doubt.

Another healing, of fallen arches, has been experienced. Physicians whom I consulted before I knew anything of Christian Science said that the arches could never be restored to normal condition; and the only relief I could have would be in wearing arch supports, which I did for nearly a year. After reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I discarded the supports and was entirely healed. This healing took place several years ago and has been permanent. I have had many other healings, among them those of intestinal indigestion, erysipelas, ptomaine poisoning, and appendicitis. There were no material means used during these experiences. The physical healings have meant much to me aside from the relief of pain, as each healing has been proof of God's presence.

I have had the privilege and blessing of being a guest at the Sanatorium of The Christian Science Benevolent Association in Boston, where peace and joy are manifested to such an extent that one sees more clearly that nothing unlike God, good, can exist or have power. It is indeed an example of God's love for man. Among the many other blessings is class instruction. I can never in words express my gratitude, appreciation, and love for our Leader, for her life of purity and consecration, which enabled her to be the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science.
