Enlightenment

Through Christian Science we perceive that the highest concept of God is Love, the Love that said, "Let there be light: and there was light." A most tender action of the divine Father is enlightenment, revelation of Himself, revelation of reality; for we know that "God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." His creation is so wonderfully good that for men to be enlightened even a little as to that which He knows as real is for them to begin at once to manifest something of divine harmony.

We actually live in the universe of God's creating, in the very presence of Mind's allness, munificence, and changeless good. And God, who is Love, has created man in His own likeness. There could be no greater gift than the understanding that the likeness of divine Mind is our only real identity.

"God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son." This great expression of God's love was manifested in Jesus to show us what we really are as the children of the Father. We learn in Christian Science that Christ Jesus' mission was no merely to demonstrate his power, as the Son of God, but to bring to light the power, dominion, and infiniteness of all the sons of God, so that we too may prove what we are, and have, and can accomplish.
